Farmland Community Center
Historic Farmland USA will host its monthly dinner concert, Friday, October 4th, in the Farmland Community Center, 100 North Main Street in downtown Farmland. Legendary bluesman, Governor Davis will perform with Tom Lindmar (drums) and Arrick Garringer (harmonica). You won't want to miss this show!
Governor Davis grew up steeped in the blues. His father played piano in clubs on Chicago’s North Side and his aunt was a church organist who taught him how to tinkle the ivories. As a young man living in the windy city, he haunted the local blues clubs and eventually got a job running errands for seminal venue Walter’s Corner, where he had the privilege of seeing Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, Junior Wells and Little Milton perform.
Dinner is at 6:30 PM dinner, the concert at 7 PM. (Dinner and concert - $12 single, $22 couple, $10/$20 HFUSA members, seniors $10. Dessert and concert - $5.) For reservations and information call 765-468-7631.
