The Muncie Volkswagen Club and the Righteous Rodders Motor Club will be hosting "Rods, Dubs & Diaper Dash” on Saturday, November 4th. Participants will be encouraged to donate a package of disposable diapers (sizes Newborn through 5) or a package of Baby Wipes (All donations will benefit the Randolph County Pregnancy Care Center. Their primary work involves counseling and support for teenage mothers. They provide alternatives to abo...rtion and continue to provide counseling and support after the baby is born.). Participants will receive a map to various Car stop and related sites of interest.
Plan to meet in the cafeteria at Monroe-Central Junior-Senior High School in Parker City, Indiana for coffee and donuts at 9:00 am. Donations can be placed inside the VW Thing in the foyer inside the main entrance. (Yep, that's right, we currently have a VW Thing in front of the Principal's office).
The stop list is still developing, but our journey will take us to several unique private collections, businesses, and restored buildings in Randolph County, Indiana, and Darke County, Ohio. Our journey will end with some time to check out a variety of unique business on Broadway in Greenville, Ohio, before an early dinner at the Bistro off of Broadway in Greenville.
9:00 - Monroe Central Junior-Senior High School - Coffee & Donuts, Donation drop off, Meet and Greet. You will receive your map and instructions here.
10:00 - Clutter Monkeys/Ken Schroeder Collection - Parker City, Indiana. We will park in the lot of Clutter Monkeys, a student operated business project. You are welcome to look around inside the store before walking down the alley to Ken Schroder’s “Man Cave”. Ken will be opening his private collection of vintage vehicles and interesting artifacts for us.
11:00 - Historic Farmland - We will make a stop in Historic Farmland to admire the architecture and restored advertising mural. We will take a step back in time with a visit to the Farmland General Store and Candy Store. You will want to buy some nostalgic candies for the rest of the trip.
12:00 - Omega Industries/James Jarrett Collection - Jim will give us a tour of his business/hot rod shop, and then let us follow him out to his private residence to see his collection of cars.
1:00 - On the way to Jim’s house, we will stop at the recently restored Flatter’s Shell Station. Stevie Sandifar will give us a tour and tell us what they have done to the place, as well as future plans for the building.
2:00 - Ward Township One-Room Schoolhouse - We have been invited to tour one of the few remaining One Room Schoolhouses in the state of Indiana. We will learn about the group that is working to preserve the building, and the future plans for the site.
3:00 - Broadway, Greenville, Ohio - Participants will be given an hour on the strip that was the site of teenage weekend cruising for MANY years. Take the time to visit some of the many unique businesses along the street before our dinner. Points of interest include:

4:00 - Bistro Off of Broadway - We will finish our tour with an early dinner at this cool little restaurant. The Bistro offers a wide raise of menu items, and features a jazz themed decor. Diners will want to take time to check out the large collection of pedal cars on display throughout the dining area.
5:00 - If you saved room after dinner, you can get a coffee and dessert at the Palace, or A & B Coffee, or go through the Maidrite drive-thru and get a sack of their famous loose meat sandwiches for the drive home.
Participants are encouraged to drive their vintage vehicles! We want to see 'em!!!!
