Stewards of Children: Darkness to Light – Preventing Child Sexual Abuse
One in ten children will be sexually abused before their 18th birthday. The mission of DARKNESS to LIGHT is to empower people to prevent child sexual abuse by educating adults about the steps they can take to prevent, recognize and react responsibly to the reality of child sexual abuse. Darkness to Light’s Stewards of Children training is a proven, award-winning prevention program that teaches adults how to prevent, recognize and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. Darkness to Light estimates that for every one adult who is trained, 10 children are protected.
This training will focus on The 5 Steps to Protecting Our ChildrenTM, an introductory guide for responsible adults interested in child sexual abuse prevention. The 5 Steps include: 1) Learn the Facts; 2) Minimize Opportunity; 3) Talk About It; 4) Recognize the Signs; 5) React Responsibly. For a preview of what to expect, view this video clip: Darkness to Light’s Stewards of Children.
