Fudge Mound

Address:

Winchester, IN 47394

Features: Mound

New settlers of the area did not know the importance of this Adena Mound.  They did not even know what it was.  They did know that the high walls made a good location for early agriculture fairs.  They soon found the clay made excellent bricks that can still be seen in many historic buildings.  Much of the courthouse is believed to be built from these bricks.  Years of farming the land had eliminated most of what could once be seen.
